PSC 190 Public Service Internship
An introduction to the principles, structures, and functions of public service. Emphasizing both policy and practice, students will develop essential client-facing skills, such as active listening, conflict resolution, cultural competency, an effective communication. A service learning course, students will utilize concepts and skills through a public service intern ship served at a local government
(county, town) agency, non-profit organization, or political organization. Students must spend 40 hours per non-lecture credit in public service intern positions with non-profit or government agencies.
Prerequisite
Any Social Science Course (ECO, ANT, PSY, PSC, SOC)
