ARH 215 Introduction to Museum Studies

This course is an examination of the historical development of the museum, curatorial and collection methods, cultural influences and ethics. Writing skills will be developed to articulate art historical context for objects in the museum and understanding the purpose of the museum in today’s society. Class visits to local and regional museums will enhance the student’s understanding of the function of the museum.
