ART 207 Painting 1

This is a beginning level studio art course covering the practice, history and theory of painting. Students will inquire into the purposes and roles of painting and analyze the historical and contemporary uses of the media. Emphasis will be placed on the creative application of the media. Students will explore oil painting techniques and study subjects that may include still-life, landscape and the human form.
