AVS 208 Wilderness & Emergency Medicine Pre-Med+ CPR & Wilderness First Responder Certification
This is a comprehensive 8-14 day introductory course in emergency and wilderness medicine offered in partnership with the University of Colorado, School of Medicine. At the end of this course, students will have learned the basics of emergency medicine and valuable skills in preventing, assessing, and treating wilderness, rural, and austere setting medical crises. The class provides hands-on learning experiences that are crucial for any student interested in applying to a health professions school. Additionally, students receive guidance from med school faculty regarding admission processes and career paths. Students will also earn CPR and Wilderness Responder certification. Course includes significant additional costs. Non-credit for students with credit in HED 108.
