MAT 101 Contemporary Math through Applications

The course will focus on real life applications of mathematics. This course will have a strong foundation in authentic learning, using visual material to present mathematical concepts in a real life context. Basic concepts in geometry and algebra will be covered through hands on application as well as mathematics in historical situations. Due to the critical thinking and writing that is required this course is intended for students who have passed 21 or more credits, have placed out of or successfully completed MAT 090 or MAT 096, and successfully completed ENG 101. Students must request an adaptive mathematical experience through the Accessibility Services Office.
