CIS 133 Network Fundamentals (CCNA1)

This course builds a theoretical foundation in understanding of the way networks operate. Network components, services and their functions, as well as how a network is structured, and the architectures and standards used to create networks, including the internet are taught. Instruction and hands-on experience are provided in the proper care, safety, and maintenance of equipment, cabling, and tools. Students build local area networks (LANs), configure basic settings on routers and switches, and implement internet protocol (IP) addressing schemes. Particular attention is given to the use of decision making and problem-solving techniques in applying technical and mathematical concepts to solve networking problems and analyzing data traffic.
