PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer-to-Peer Program

With an office located in the Student Center, the Dwyer Program is funded by NY State Senate funds to serve veterans of Warren and Washington County.  Named to honor the memory of an Iraq war hero from Mount Sinai, NY, the Dwyer program is a peer-to-peer program for Veterans, including those veterans experiencing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  Services and programs are offered throughout Warren and Washington counties providing veterans, service members and their families with comprehensive peer support and recreational programming.  Veteran Peer Support Volunteers and Peer Mentors offer social programming, connections to community resources, peer support as well as crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate clinical resources.  Dwyer program staff collaborate with county Veteran Services Officers and community partners to expand the reach and impact of veteran support services.
