CIS 235 Network Security II (CCNA CyberOps))

Students will apply security framework principles for information security to maintain integrity, confidentiality and availability of data. Students will learn to detect and analyze alerts in a security information and event management (SIEM) system, and report on cybersecurity incidents as a Tier 1/Tier 2 Security Analyst in a security operations center (SOC). Students will learn how to view logs in MS Windows and Linux file system and mitigate threats in the network infrastructure and services through such technologies as firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (lDS/lPS). Curriculum is designed to support student preparation for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Cyber Operations (Cyber Ops) exam.
