AGR 103 Sustainable Food

Through hands-on work in our campus gardens and greenhouses, students learn the basic skills of growing food, and the ecological principles supporting agriculture and food systems. Lectures examine contemporary issues in food production, distribution and sustainability, as well as the basic biology of plant growth, crop management and soil health. Individual and class projects involve growing and harvesting crops for our community, ecological footprint analysis, and creating local sustainable food programs.
