HVAC/R Technician Bootcamp - CPRP 404

This course will begin with the basics of HVAC/R and move into an in-depth breakdown of each category within HVAC/R knowledge needed to build a solid technical foundation. Content will focus on various topics, including but not limited to: electrical skills, refrigeration, ductwork, wiring schematics, heat exchangers, controls and switches, diagrams and symbols, common piping configurations.

Upon completion of this program, students will:

Understand the basic principles of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
Be able to identify and describe the function of various HVAC components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, and ductwork
Understand the fundamentals of electricity, including basic wiring techniques
Have the ability to troubleshoot common HVAC problems, identify potential issues, and perform basic diagnostic procedures
Gain knowledge and skills in performing preventative maintenance
Understand principles of refrigerant handling
Demonstrate safe practices when working with HVAC equipment

*Students who successfully complete this bootcamp are eligible for advanced standing in credit coursework.
