SUNY Adirondack offers a two year Associates in Science Degree in Accounting (Accounting A.S.) for those seeking to pursue a career in accounting related fields. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts employment of accountants and auditors is projected to grow 10 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. This degree parallels the first half of a bachelor's degree in accounting and is specifically designed for transfer to a 4-year institution. It does as well provide a significant foundation for students to pursue career opportunities should they not choose to transfer, and also an opportunity to use this degree to transfer into other 4-year business degree related programs.
